About the Conference

To Our Esteemed Delegates and Executive Board Members,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural edition of the Army Public School Nehru Road Model United Nations (APS NR MUN). As we begin this conference, we invite you to enter a space where global issues are examined with depth, differing perspectives are met with openness, and ideas are shaped through dialogue and deliberation.

The learning offered by a Model United Nations conference extends far beyond the classroom. It places delegates before issues that rarely have simple answers and challenges them to look beyond their own understanding of the world. Through research, negotiation and informed debate, delegates learn to navigate differences, build consensus and approach global challenges with both reason and responsibility.

APS NR MUN has been envisioned to offer precisely this experience. Across two days of rigorous committee sessions, delegates will confront complex agendas, question established perspectives and work towards meaningful solutions. The conference will demand preparation, clarity of thought and the courage to speak with conviction, while also recognising that diplomacy begins with the willingness to listen.

Yet, the true character of any Model United Nations conference is shaped by its delegates. The quality of its deliberations, the depth of its discussions and the solutions that emerge from its committees will depend upon the thought, preparation and purpose each of you brings to the table. Whether you are an experienced delegate or attending your first conference, APS NR MUN offers you the opportunity to challenge yourself, learn from those around you and contribute meaningfully to every room you enter.

It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as the MUN Coordinator for the inaugural edition of APS NR MUN. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to guide this endeavour and to work alongside the Secretariat in laying the foundation of a conference that we intend to see grow into a lasting legacy. To be entrusted with this responsibility from its very first edition is a privilege I value deeply.

As you take your places in committee, I encourage you to question thoughtfully, deliberate purposefully and approach every discussion with an open mind. May you leave APS MUN not only with stronger arguments and greater confidence, but with a deeper understanding of the world and of your own ability to engage with it.

Three words. One legacy.

Some values define an institution. Others define the people who lead it. At Army Public School Nehru Road, we have had the privilege of inheriting both. Rooted in the enduring ethos of the Indian Army, our institution has always believed that leadership is measured not by authority, but by character; not by recognition, but by responsibility. It is this very conviction that gave rise to the Army Public School Nehru Road Model United Nations.

To me, APSMUN has always represented two things—a duty and a legacy.

A duty, because every opportunity to lead is first an opportunity to serve. A legacy, because the inaugural edition of any institution is remembered not simply for being the first, but for the standards it chooses to establish. Institutions are not built by circumstance; they are built by conviction. It is with that conviction that APSMUN has been envisioned—not merely as a conference, but as a tradition in the making, where diplomacy is practised with integrity, leadership is exercised with purpose, and every delegate contributes to something greater than a single committee or a single conference.

On behalf of the Secretariat and the Organising Committee, I extend my warmest welcome to the inaugural Army Public School Nehru Road Model United Nations. As delegates, Executive Board members, faculty advisors, and guests, each of you now becomes a part of the first chapter of this institution's journey.

Every institution is ultimately defined by the standards it refuses to compromise. As the first custodians of APSMUN, that responsibility rests with all of us. May we prove worthy of it.
